Privacy Policy — Almanack

Effective: July 10, 2026 · Contact: arnav@outsourcingtechnologies.com

The short version

We collect what the product visibly needs — your birth details, the things you choose to tell your companion, and your purchases. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, we don't track you across other apps. Deleting your account deletes your data.

What we collect and why

  • Birth details (date, exact time, birthplace; name optional) — the entire product computes from these. Stored with your chart.
  • Account (Sign in with Apple identifier; the email Apple shares with us, including a private relay address if you choose Hide My Email) — to keep your chart, reading, and memory across devices, and to attach purchases.
  • What you tell your companion — life events you add, daily one-tap day logs, "tune" corrections to your timeline (a year plus a short note on what actually happened), and chat messages with your coach. This is the product's memory; it exists so insights get more personal over time. It is always visible in the app (You → Memory), editable, and deletable — deleting a memory removes it from future use.
  • Purchases — receipts and entitlement records via Apple (transaction and product IDs, status, expiry); we never see your card details. If you redeem a referral code, we also record a device signal used only to prevent duplicate or self-referral abuse.
  • Notifications (only if you allow them) — a device push token, used only to deliver your briefing notifications through Apple's own push service. No third-party push provider is involved.
  • Generated content — your readings and briefings, stored so they remain yours to reread.

We do not collect: contacts, photos, browsing data, location, calendar data, advertising identifiers, or anything for tracking. v1 includes no analytics SDKs and no crash-tracking SDKs; if that changes, this policy and the App Store privacy label change with it.

Who processes your data

  • Supabase — our database and authentication infrastructure.
  • Anthropic — the AI that writes readings, briefings, and chat replies. Your chart summary and relevant memory are sent to generate each piece. Under the commercial API terms we use, this data is not used to train their models.
  • Apple — payments, subscriptions, push notifications.
  • OpenStreetMap/Nominatim — birthplace search: the place text you type is sent to resolve coordinates.

No data is sold or shared for advertising. Ever.

Retention & deletion

Everything is kept until you delete it — individual memories in-app, or your whole account via You → Settings → Delete account, which permanently deletes your charts, readings, memory, day logs, tune corrections, chat history, and purchase records from our systems. This is a real deletion of your content, not a deactivation.

Your choices

Notifications are optional and revocable in iOS Settings at any time; the app remains fully functional without them. You can export your data by asking — contact us and we'll provide it in a portable format.

Age

Almanack is for users 17+. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance.
