Terms of Service — Almanack

1. What Almanack is — and isn't

Almanack (offered on the web as Vedic CoPilot) computes your Vedic birth chart from real astronomical data and offers interpretation through classical texts and AI. It is a tool for reflection and self-understanding. It is not, and must never be treated as, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and no astrologer-client, therapist-client, or advisor-client relationship is created by using it. Guidance about timing and life patterns is interpretive tradition, not prediction of fact — decisions you make remain yours.

If you are in crisis or considering harming yourself, stop using the app and contact emergency services or a crisis line (in the US, call or text 988).

2. Your account

You need to be 17 or older. Keep your Apple ID secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. One account per person — trial entitlements are limited to one per account, however earned, and gaming referral or trial mechanics (self-referral, duplicate accounts) may result in revocation of granted access.

3. Purchases, subscriptions, refunds

All purchases run through Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before renewal; Apple's refund process governs refunds. The one-time Deep Reading purchase includes a 14-day Companion access period; the annual Companion subscription includes the Deep Reading. If a purchase is refunded, associated access is revoked. Prices may change; changes never apply retroactively to a period you've already paid for.

4. The AI companion

Chat, briefings, and readings are generated by AI working from your chart and what you've shared. It's clearly labeled as AI, it isn't a person, and it isn't a licensed professional of any kind. It can be wrong. The memory it keeps is visible and deletable by you (You → Memory).

5. Your content, our content

You own what you tell the app (your events, logs, messages). You grant us the license needed to operate the product with them (computing, generating, storing — per the Privacy Policy). Your generated readings and briefings are yours to keep and share personally; the underlying engines, rule corpus, prompts, designs, and brand are ours, and you may not resell, scrape, reverse-engineer, or bulk-extract them.

6. Acceptable use

No abusive load, no probing or circumventing technical or payment controls, no use of the service to harass others or to produce content violating law. We may suspend accounts that do these things.

7. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is." Astronomical computations are made in good faith with professional-grade ephemeris data, but we do not warrant uninterrupted service or fitness of interpretations for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

8. Termination

You can stop any time (and delete your account in-app). We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms; if we do so without cause, unused paid periods are handled per Apple's refund mechanisms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India; disputes go to the courts of New Delhi. Consumers retain any mandatory protections of their home jurisdiction.
